Richmond FC’s U18 Metro team – Richmond United – are 2017 Provincial Champions!

The team defeated Burnaby Metro Selects 4-2 in extra time yesterday after going 2-2 in regulation time (down at the half 1-0 and tying it up with minutes left). In round robin pool play Richmond tied Burnaby 1-1, defeated Bays United 2-0, and tied Prince George 2-2 to advance to the finals.

The U18 Provincial Champions title caps off a stellar final season of soccer for the boys who came off a U17 season that saw them not qualify for Provincials, but come back with a vengeance in the 2016/2017 season. The team won the Metro Select League with 14 wins and 4 ties, won the Coastal Cup Championship Tournament in May (winning all games) and finished off with the Championship title at Provincials. An undefeated season for the boys and a phenomenal way to end their youth soccer participation.
