RFC is pleased to announce it will be introducing Girls Programming to its current spring programs, with the new Girls Development Program.

The program will be open to all U9 (2012) to U18 (2003) Girls, and will have RFC Professional coaching staff to oversee the program, with additional professional staff providing support, with the objective of providing the best development environment possible for this group of players at their current stage of development.

The training model would follow the CSA’s best practice model for this stage of development and be squad-based training where players would be divided into groups based on their current ability level, and movement would occur between the groups based on the development needs of each individual player.

The focus of the sessions during the 12 week program, would be on developing individual soccer techniques, providing lots of touches on the ball, with an emphasis on ball manipulation, 1v1 skills, finishing, passing and receiving techniques. Game awareness, principles of play and attacking/defending will be developed through small sided games and opposed situations that provide players with the opportunity to solve realistic soccer problems.

The sessions will be every Wednesday from April 8th to June 24th @ Hugh Boyd Athletic Park
2012-2009 – 5:30pm-7:00pm
2008-2003 – 7:00pm-8:30pm

Cost for the program is $200, and there will be opportunities for some groups to participate in tournament or exhibition games during the course of the program, which will be an additional cost.
