The 2019 Richmond FC Recreational Spring Soccer League will run April 23 to June 29, 2019. The League is open to girls and boys born 2014 to 2007. There is a Parent-Tot program for players born 2015. The League is CO-ED for players born 2014, 2013, 2008 and 2007. If numbers permit, Richmond FC will try to run separate girls and boys leagues for players born 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009. If numbers do not permit, these divisions will be co-ed also.
NEW THIS YEAR!!! Do you want to play in East Richmond or West Richmond?
On the registration form you will be given the choice to play at Boyd (West Richmond, Francis Road and #1 Road) or King George (East Richmond, Cambie Road and #5 Road). If registration numbers support playing at King George, the League will also run out of King George. If not, all play will be at Boyd.
For the 2014 to 2007 born players, the Recreational Spring Soccer League is games both sessions (two times per week). All sessions are 1 hour in length. There are no practices, it is recreational game play or “let the kids play”. All registered players will be assigned to a team that is lead by a volunteer parent coach. Each session is full of games, laughter, and fun! Richmond FC will provide Staff Coaches to observe, assist and manage the League’s on-field operations, but they do not run the teams during games. Parent coaches will oversee the game environment and flow of the game (including substitutions) adding words of encouragement, advice, and instruction in a safe environment. Kids are given the chance to “just play”. Richmond FC provides referees for games for players 2010 to 2007.
Game structure is small-sided games. 2014/2013 play 3 v 3, 2012/2011 play 4 v 4, 2010/2009 play 6 v 6 and 2008/2007 play 8 v 8.
For players born 2015, Richmond FC will continue to run its very popular Parent-Tot soccer program. The program is delivered by a Richmond FC Staff coach and players and parents partake in each session.
2014 to 2007 born players will play Saturdays between 9am and 1pm (1 hour session) and one session (1 hour session) on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 5:30pm-7:30pm. Specific playing days and times for each age group will not be available until after registration closes and Richmond FC determines space needs for each group and whether play at King George will be feasible. Once scheduling is determined, the playing times for each age group will be the same day/time for the duration of the season on a published schedule. Please note that registration does not close until March 24 so we will not be able to answer any scheduling questions in advance of that.
2015 born players (Parent-Tot program) will play Sundays either 9am-9:45am or 10am-10:45am. The choice will be on the registration form.
To March 24 registration close: $175 (includes a league t-shirt that players keep)
After March 24 late registration: $250 (only if space permits)
Players born 2014 to 2007 require shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats. Players will receive a league t-shirt to wear each session, all other attire is the responsibility of the player.
As noted above the Recreational Spring Soccer League is GAMES ONLY. If you are interested in skill development, then please check out Richmond FC’s Spring Friday night 1st Touch Soccer Program!
