April 18 to June 24, 2017
The spring league is a game based program open to all players of all levels and abilities. Players who register for this program will be placed on a team and will participate in a series of small sided games in a 3v3 or 4v4 format against other teams participating in the league. RFC in partnership with BC Soccer will also run a Grassroots Festival to kick start the program, and another to wrap up the program as a grand finale to the program. The program will run for a total of 10 weeks and teams will play 2 games per week one on the weekend and the other during the week.
Programming for 2008 to 2005 born players:

RFC in partnership with BC Soccer will also run a Grassroots Festival to kick start the program, and another to wrap up the program as a grand finale to the program. The program will run for a total of 10 weeks and teams will play 2 games per week one on the weekend and the other during the week.
Programming for 2013 born players :
Richmond FC Parent-Tot program has been developed as a fun introduction to soccer for players born in 2013 which runs for 8 weeks over the spring. Designed to prepare players for entry into “mainstream” soccer programming that runs September to March each year, with 4 years old being the youngest allowable age. The program will operate every Sunday, and parents will be expected to participate in the sessions with their child. Sessions will be 45 minutes in length, and will follow a curriculum developed by the RFC Technical director, Steve Hood, based on the Long Term Player Development model.
Key Points about the 2017 Spring Soccer League:
* Spring Soccer League runs April 18 to June 24 – twice a week, except Parent-Tot which is once per week.
* The League is run jointly by the Richmond FC (boys club) and the RGSA (girls club).
* Focus of the spring league is skill development through game play. ALL sessions are small-sided games per above – there are no practices.
* Field location is to be announced when the season starts (but will be at the same location for each session).
* Equipment required are shinguards, socks and soccer cleats. All players receive a league t-shirt to keep.

Spring League runs twice per week (you are registering for both sessions) April 18-June 24 (except Parent-tot which runs Sundays, April 23 to June 25). Field location is not known at this time, but it will be the same field for all sessions. Field location will be sent out just prior to the League start-up. Please don’t email to ask as we don’t know at this time.

**2010 to 2007 will only be separate boys and girls if girls’ registration numbers permit the formation of at least 3 girls teams to form their own League. If registration numbers do not allow for the formation of 3 girls teams, then 2010-2007 will be run co-ed with at least 3 to 4 girls per co-ed team. We will not be able to confirm this until registration is closed (March 31) and we are able to review the registration numbers.

Requests to be with a friend are only taken for those players born in 2012, 2011 and 2010. There is space on the registration form to make this request for these birth years ONLY and we will only accommodate up to ONE player requests (e.g., if you write in 4 players names, we guarantee placement with ONE only). We will only accommodate up to 2 parents wanting to coach/help out together on the same team. Requests of more than two parents to coach together will be broken into groups of two. We must divide the volunteers up evenly across the teams in order for the season to be successful. Thanks for your understanding.

Please note that the onus/responsibility is on the parent/guardian to apply for assistance. Richmond FC does not do this for you.
Refunds are given up to Monday April 16, 2017. All refunds up to April 16 are subject to a $20 administration fee. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN AFTER THE SEASON STARTS (April 17).

2016/2017 Richmond FC (BOYS) Players: If you did not play in the 2016 Spring League, but are currently registered and playing in the 2016/2017 boys soccer season, please use your username and password for that registration. 2016/2017 RGSA (GIRLS) Players: If you did not play in the 2016 Spring League, but are currently registered and playing the 2016/2017 girls soccer season, you must set up an account to register for the Spring League as the boys and girls soccer clubs use different registration systems. Click the REGISTER button and enter the registration system as a “New User”.
New Players (boys or girls): Never played in the Spring Soccer League or with the Richmond FC (boys) or the RGSA (girls), click the REGISTER button and enter the registration system as a New User.
IMPORTANT: Per above programming descriptions, Spring Soccer League is a GAMES ONLY based league (“let the kids play”). There are no practices, it is games both sessions each week. e focus of spring league is skill development through game play.
